May Half Term Activities & Swimming Timetables 2026
Join us for some fun this May Half Term at our sports centres!
Please note that children MUST wear suitable footwear like trainers for all activities – NO crocs, sliders or flip flops are permitted for safety reasons.
Playschemes
Enjoy a range of multi-sports activities and games from 10am – 1.30pm in the sports hall, followed by an optional free swim session in the pool from 1.30pm – 3pm.

Participants should bring a packed lunch and refreshments (or money for the café at Ebbw Vale), as well as their swim kit and a towel.

Disability Family Swim
Join us for an inclusive family swim session for children with disabilities to enjoy alongside their siblings and parents or guardians/carers through the half term.
The session includes FREE access for disabled children and siblings with a paying adult/carer.
Sessions at Abertillery and Tredegar will include a pool inflatable.

Whether you’ve never kicked a ball before or have been playing for years, you’re guaranteed to enjoy yourself, develop your skills and techniques, and put them into practice in conditioned, small-sided games.

Free Swimming Sessions for Under 16s
Join us at Abertillery Sports Centre for a fun free-swimming session for under 16s this half term. These sessions have been funded by Abertillery and Llanhilleth Community Council.

Please note that children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult in accordance with our swimming admission policy:
Children under 4 must be accompanied by an adult on a one-to one basis, children aged 4 - 7 must be accompanied by one adult for every two children, children aged 8 and over don't require adult supervision as long as they are competent swimmers.
